Abstract

Cattle feed industry is important market provided with broad market opportunities due to meat and poultry consumption. For investors, cattle feed industry with its prospects are attractive market to invest in. In investing, investors consider more than future prospects and profit but return earn. Dividend payout is one of return expected by shareholders. Yet, paying out dividend will depend on financial capability of the company itself. Hence, investors need to analyze further financial performances of companies. This study was conducted in order to identify financial ratios that may have influence on dividend payout ratios in Indonesian cattle feed industry. This study examined the ratios of return on equity, debt to equity ratio, cash ratio, earning per share, and price to earning ratio on dividend payout ratio. Also to provide more comprehensive informations, this study will examined the indirect factors that may influence dividend through profitability, they are total asset turnover, sales growth, and net cash flow. The results of this study was that only dividend payout ratio that has positively significant impact on dividend. While for indirect factors, only total asset turnover that has positive and significant impact on profitability.
