Abstract

The process of welding is a particular technology that it is being used extensively in the manufacturing process of the industries. Welding is a process joining separate pieces of various metals in continuous metallic bond. This study has evaluated about the work carried out by the welders and the situation welding work conditions of the company X, in this paper specifically present the study about the advantage of ergonomic evaluation at welding activities and new solution to improve the work condition for the welders that carried out in PT.X. At the end of this ergonomic principle and new solution for improvement in develop of new equipment i.e. fixtures and handling equipment which are give beneficial effect to the welders and results to the productivity including improve cycle time for the company. This research use primary data as well as secondary data that analyzed with SPSS Statistic 22. Primary data consist of questionnaire while secondary data were collected from company X. The research data will be tested with Cronbach’s Alpha for its reliability. Proper use should include workers awareness of the ergonomic principles. It is remarkable to design the workplaces to fit the needs of the workers because it will increase the productivity of the company.
