Abstract
During the past few decades, hospitality industry is just getting bigger and evolving. As the industry grows, they recognize that motivated and committed employees are adding value to the company. Because of that, this research wants to investigate whether the training program will increase the employees’ job efficiency or not. This study will bring the readers further to the literature review, which has been collected and reviewed. Moreover, there were primary research that was conducted through th th questionnaires and interviews from 8 April to 24 April 2015. Throughout, this research has successfully gathered 100 survey responses from the line employees and 3 interviews with managers of Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta. Next, the analysis of the raw data into pertinent results has been done and then compared it to the literature reviews. The result from this research shows that training program has impact on employee productivity by 43.9%. Based on the results, it has been proved that the training programs have benefits to both the employers and employees. Among all other benefits, the employers believe that training can make the employees need less supervision. Lastly, by gaining more skills and knowledge, it can help to increase employees’ job performance.
