Abstract
Risk is always exist in the business which is also exist in banking industry. That is why there is a risk management division in the company that will manage and mitigate the risks to avoid unwanted events and maximize the profitability. Risk management to avoid the monetary crisis during year 1997-1998 and 2008. To calculate and analyzing risks of the company, there should consists of indicators (CAR, NPL, and LDR). This research will ascertain the impact of CAR, NPL, and LDR toward profitability. This study will using the risks variables which are capital adequacy ratio (CAR), Non- Performing Loan (NPL), and Loan- to- Deposit Ratio (LDR), for the profitability, the researcher will use Return on Asset (ROA) as the indicator. The research will conducted quantitatively that will explain the risk variables impact toward the profitability. This study will cover for the most competitive state-owned banks which are BNI, Mandiri, and BRI. The data is processed using E-views 8.1 software for statistical analysis. As the result the NPL and LDR has significant impact toward the ROA. To conclude, risk variables plays significant role toward the bank’s profitability.
