Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept that is gaining popularity across the globe, especially in western developed countries. CSR itself is a firm’s commitment to contribute to sustainable economic development, working with employees, their families, local communities and society at large to improve the general quality of life. This research seeks to understand the relationship of CSR towards an Indonesian food & beverage company’s financial performance through corporate reputation. Data will be gathered from annual reports and audited financial statements of publicly listed food & beverage firms in Indonesian Stock Exchange from the period of 2010 to 2014, as well as through questionnaires, which then the data is processed using SPSS statistics. As a result, it was found out that there is a significant relationship between an Indonesian F&B company’s reputation with its financial performance, but there is no significant relationship between an Indonesian F&B company’s financial performance with CSR. Thus, it is concluded that CSR should be used as a strategy to maximize corporate reputation in order to maximize its financial performance.
