Abstract

An automatic drink mixing machine is an automatic machine that can mix various types of beverages. The recipe options of each beverage can be chosen from a user interface. The automatic system is controlled by PLC. There are five types of systems that will be applied in this thesis which are a volume sensing system, an actuating valve system, a cup detection system, a linear motion system and a liquid reservoir system. The volume sensing system used in this system is a flow sensor with pulse. The actuating valve system used in this system is a solenoid valve. Moreover, a photoelectric sensor is used in the cup detection system to detect the presence of an object, in this case a cup. Furthermore, the linear motion system used in this project is a stepper motor with a timing belt. In the linear motion system, there is a linear motion that will be used to transport the cup from one container to another container. Each container dispense liquids and mixed it into the cup.
