Abstract
Popular culture ‗Korean Wave‘ has been reaching out all over the world since 2000s and the phenomenon also intrigues people‘s interests towards Korean culture and products. In fact, some of the people come to prefer Korean culture and products instead those from their own country. Indonesia is inevitable too, where most of its enthusiasts are teenager to adult females. With this in mind, there is a possibility that Indonesian culture might eventually vanish in those individuals. Thus this research concentrates on Indonesian female K-Wavers between 15 and 30 years old who are living in Jabodetabek area, investigates their main medium of Korean Wave consumption and whether Korean Wave has any impact on their individuals and Indonesian culture from their points of views. A quantitative research method is applied and 251 respondents are obtained through the distributed questionnaire, inquiring their amount of Korean Wave consumption, period of being K-Wavers, and opinions on the impact of Korean Wave. The results of this research show that internet is the main medium of Korean Wave consumption in Jabodetabek area. In addition, Korean Wave does impact Indonesian female K-Wavers in several aspects. However, the K-Wavers believe that Korean Wave does not have any impact on Indonesian culture.
