Abstract

Demand on high quality processed materials in form powder increased over the years at various sector such as pharmaceutics and food spices. From the ancient times, to obtain the powder product from the raw materials must be dried out. Yet, various materials would decrease its nutrition quality when exposed to the sun light or excessive heat. Therefore, humanity studied drying process and invented freeze-drying process in order to maintain the quality of nutrition inside the raw materials. Based on papers and journals, freeze-drying technology has been proven effective to obtain the high-quality dried products. The process harnesses the nature of thermodynamics of the water substances and pressure to separate the material and its contained water. Thus, humanity could harvest only the dried extract of the material.
