Abstract

Laundry service is very common in Indonesia. There are 2 types of laundry service, a full-service and a self-service. The self-service laundry in Indonesia still uses a traditional way where customers still need to buy tokens from a cashier before being able to use the machine. This method is not efficient enough as it still requires labor effort to be able to do the self-service. Therefore, to solve this problem, a smart laundry system can be developed such that a central computer will be able to control al the machines in the laundry store. Customers will fully rely on the central computer for the laundry service. Since the system, does not require any labor effort, it will maximize productivity as labor breaks will also be removed from the equation, thus maximizing profitability at the same time. This approach will use Django as the web framework paired with Python as the main programming language to create the user interface for the front-end. Arduino will be used for the back-end to control the activation of the machines. Since communication between Arduino and Python is required, PySerial library will be used to make serial communication possible.
