Abstract

The research that conduct in PT.XYZ. PT.XYZ is a company that selling palm kernel shell (PKS) through several countries such as Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. That is the reason why outbound logistic is a very crucial factor that affecting the cost and time consumption inside the company. The outbound logistic inside the company is affected by the facility especially the design of layout. By interview with the expert from the company, the expert told about the problem that the company faced. The expert said that the layout of the facility is not proper and based on the field observation findings, the layout design is affecting the productivity of outbound logistic process in the facility. To solve the problem, the designer using Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) to analyze and develop the new alternative layout. The 3 new alternative layouts later on will be tested through simulation. The method of simulation used is Discrete Event Analysis. After the simulation can be run and the results can be display, the current state and alternative layout that has been designed will be compared whether the new alternative layouts are giving better benefits or not.
