Abstract

Human labor is still needed in the industry for doing jobs that technology cannot do. However, in the execution of duties, workers receive less attention from superiors than they have used to. Therefore, complaints arise about the lack of workspaces that have risk musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The effects to the workers become unhealthy and work disturbed. In this research, the activities of the workers in the assembly department in Electric Company will be analyzed. An observation is conducted and a video is recorded to get the actual condition. Formerly Nordic Body Map and REBAwas used to record and analyzed about complaint and body posture. In addition, to get an accurate result, Jack Simulation is used to simulate the posture of the worker while working. A significant increase in complaints is the outcome due to the awkward posture while working. Therefore, the improvement should prevent awkward posture for the worker. The improvement conducted by creating the concept of support tool(s) that can improve the posture that have risk of injury. Then the posture will be simulated again with the Jack Simulation, to see the results. It is expected to have low risk posture for working.
