Abstract
The purpose of this theis is to develop automated quality control equipment to detect paper cup leakage defect. This device is designed to reduce humans workload; The design of the device frame is done by Solidworks software. The design was chosen to be as simple as possible so that the device can be done in short period of time and the manufacturing cost is affordable. Programming software Qt and OpenCV are used for the machine vision part of the device. The cup will be sealed with a cap made from aluminium and filled with colored liquid. Pressure will be applied to the cup and the liquid, the machine vision will then detect the leakage based on the colored liquid seen on the leakage spot. A prototype will be made and the testing will be done in SGU.
