Abstract

This study examines the impact of business incubators in the development of opportunity-based entrepreneurial intentions among students in Indonesia. The study is conducted in Indonesia using data collected from Indonesian student from the Jabodetabek area. The first finding of this paper shows that Shapero’s Model of Entreprenurial Moment is usable to explain opportunity-based entreprenurial intention in Indonesia but with only perceived feasibility and perceived desirebility having a significant impact. The second finding is the lack of awareness of business incubator amoung Indonesian students and the lack of significant influence of business incubator on opportunity-based entreprenurial intention. From these findings, it can be concluded that while business incubator services are perceived positively by Indonesian students, there’s a need for business incubators to be more reachable and work together more with educational institution if it were to be more successful in increasing opportunity-based entreprenurial levels in Indonesia
