Abstract

PT. Dinar Segara Logistik is a company that provides inventory service. The company offers two types of inventory area, which are ‘warehouse’ and ‘container depot’, with the same services given on each inventory area, which are ‘storage’ and ‘handling’. However, the company is currently having several problems, especially in the warehouse management. The management of the company’s warehouse is still based on simple practices of goods placement and pickup, and manual recording. As a result, the company has unclear warehouse workflow and difficulties in locating in the inventory. This thesis focuses on the implementation of 5S at PT. Dinar Segara Logistik. 5S methodology is divided into five phases, which are: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. Data is taken before and after the implementation to be compared and analyzed so that changes and improvement can be clearly shown. In addition to that, a user acceptance test is conducted to receive feedback from the workers about the solutions proposed to the company.
