Abstract
In 2008, financial crisis occurred globally. Many countries suffered because of this crisis because of the unexpected losses that made them loss their asset or even filing for bankruptcy. In accordance with financial crisis of 2008, Basel Committee of Banking Supervision (BCBS) updated the Basel II policy for banks to be more sensitive towards market risk. Bank Indonesia (BI) started to adapt the policy and gives knowledge about the risk management. This risk management also acquired for investors to avoid any unexpected events. To analyze risk management, banks, institutions, and investors should know the indicators that represent how good the company they will invest in. In this paper, non-performing loan (NPL), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), and loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) will be assessed and how they are related to the profitability that will represent by return on asset (ROA). With purposive sampling method, this research consists of 25 banks in Indonesia and will be grouped by BUKU. The data will be collected quantitatively and will be processed with e-views 10 software. The result of this research NPL and LDR has a positive effect towards the ROA, while the CAR has no effect towards the ROA.
