Abstract

There are have been previous research about Internet addiction (IA) in Indonesia, but there is no specifically affected how IA would influenced social skills (SS) of the youth generation particularly in South Tangerang area, and this research aims to help more discovered how IA can affected to SS of the youth generation and another aims of this research were to examine which one is the most affected to SS by IA. Methods; A total of 229 youth generation age ranged between 15 – 24 years old, who had been their IA levels, SS deficits were assessed. Results; the correlation between Internet addiction and Internet addiction were examined using AMOS Model analyses (Structural Equation Modeling / SEM) and Pearson Correlation Test. SS were significantly affected by IA. In conclusions; Social expressivity in dimensions of SS is the most affected by IA. The results showed that there is a significant effect of social expressivity towards youth social skills.
