Abstract

This thesis will be about speech recognition using smart phone to control a model of homemade smart appliances. The demonstration will be using a model of a room filled with the homemade smart appliances. The speech recognition technology that is use is Apple’s speech recognition library. Real problems such as speech recognition inaccuracy and false command execution will be tested. The result shows that while inaccuracy is a big problem for nonnative speaker, it is accurate at detecting native speakers. This thesis also develops an early stage of homemade smart appliance that can be use without the need of a smart hub.
