Abstract
Steam boiler is used in many industries to generate heat energy. There is a lot product in everyday life use heat energy to manufacture. However, to generate heat energy with steam boiler require fuel which is very costly. Sunlight emits infrared which can be used as an alternative for fuel. Parabolic trough collector (PTC) is a solar collector which is more efficient than solar panel. Reflector is formed to parabola and light will be focused at the center. PTC requires to generate heat for steam boiler with an output of 200 Kg/hour. Reflector for PTC is using decoration mirror which has an efficiency of 0.78. PTC length is 3 meter and 1.2 meter for length of aperture with a absorber tube diameter of 0.0127 meter. PTC can reach until 108℃ and transform into steam. PTC can minimalize industry cost by 0.91 than usual production process. Best method to use for preheating is by flow and combined parallel and series method or batch with parallel method. In conclusion PTC can be used as preheat for steam boiler.
