Abstract

The use of email and excel file by the Planning & Operation division are time consuming and makes the management difficult to retrieve and utilize customer inquiry data for the decision support of their planning activity. This research has an objective to develop a web-based software application system using PHP Laravel framework that can provide information related to the check stock availability and order status directly for the customer, as well provides reports that the management can use in planning activity. The development of this research follows the waterfall methodology approach to be completed which are gaining user requirement, designing, developing, and testing the system. Unit testing, functionality testing, and accuracy data test are conducted to test the functionality and accuracy of the system. The measurement of user expectation is using the gap analysis methodology by delivering questionnaire to the staff and management. Workload time and response time simulation are conducted to have a comparation between the current system and new system. The development result of the system is proven to reduce the staff workload time by eliminating 138.75 minutes of all the staff time in a day. The system is able to reduce the response time of customer in receiving the status of their inquiry by 1053.4 times faster for the stock availability checking and 1920 times faster for the order status checking. The developed system has fulfilled each user expectation of the system based on a positive gap analysis result and able to provide reports that are beneficial for Planning & Operation division and Sales division to support their planning activity.
