Abstract
In the industrial world, quality is the most important thing that must always be maintained in every product produced. To maintain a stable quality, we can no longer use a human inspector. Due these quality requirements, a product checking tool is needed, so that it will avoid a mix between accepted and rejected products. By developing an image processing based system, the inspection can be conducted more accurately. The system, which is combined with an actuator, can improve production efficiency and will also reduce the possibility of mixing between accepted and rejected products. The objectives of this experiment is to get a better reliability in checking parts that are fitted with nuts or bolts which are usually carried out by an operator so that there is no mixing of accepted and rejected parts and achieving quality assurance requirement to minimize human error. A prototype based on image processing has been designed, built and tested. The test was conducted on several parts as inspection's objects with some different conditions, including 3 rejected parts in different positions and 1 accepted part, can be successfully done. So the process of inspection and separation of accepted and rejected parts can be done automatically.
