Abstract

The purpose of this thesis work is to design and fabricate a control system for a very special type of motor in the mechatronic field, the stepper motor. The fiber stretching mechanism of a fused fiber coupling machine has been chosen for application of this control system. The mechanism utilizes two stepper motors in a simple way which includes slow or high speed shaft rotation in a synchronized movement. A graphical user interface will be created in a PC to provide input for the microcontroller device and also to display the output desired.
