Abstract

In this thesis, the researcher is attempting to analyze the trial implementation of forward contract in a company which not only operates in Indonesia but also engages in business relationship with other companies outside Indonesia. The purpose of the research is to analyze the benefit of the implementation of forward contract for this company. Quantitative and qualitative approach is the methodology in which the research is conducted. Qualitative approach is used in analyzing the reason why forward rate is higher than spot rate and why forward contract is beneficial. Quantitative is used in calculating the data using statistical approach. The result of the research shows that the implementation of forward contract in 2007 from Bank Y at PT. X is beneficial. Several monetary events in 2007 and under predicted forward rate have become beneficial supporting aspect.
