Abstract

Agrotourism is a style of vacation which is normally on farms. It is a new thing in our tourism and has big potential for growth in Indonesia. Because there are a lot of agriculture tourism destination in Indonesia, the author take two of them as a sample. The first example is PT.Gunung Mas, which belongs to BUMN (Badan Usaha Milik Negara), it is located in Cisarua, West Java. Gunung Mas before it open as an agrotourism destination was a tea plantation. The second example is TlogoAgro, which belongs to PerDa (Perusahaan Daerah) Semarang, is located in Delik Village, Semarang. TlogoAgro has coffee, rubber and fruit plantations. The purposes of this thesis are to study the development of agricultural tourism in Indonesia, to see the effect on a village that becomes a tourist destination and to introduce agrotourism to Indonesian people. To achieve the goal above, the author used interview and questioners to asked the opinion, knowledge and comments from tourists who came to both of agrotourism destination. The data analysis will processed by using t-test in PH Stat2 for Microsoft Excel. The author conclude that agrotourism has a positive effect on surrounding villages and the people in Indonesia still do not know about agritourism, even though they come to agrotourism destination.
