Abstract

Many technical errors occur in manufacturing company until impede company’ performance. Using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), it will solve the technical problems, however, the higher price of proprietary ERP become constraints for using it. Currently, only large scaled companies which have the budget for implementing and using the proprietary ERP. For this reason, the emergence of “Open Source” ERP might give opportunities for small to medium scaled companies to implement ERP within reasonable and affordable prices. One of the examples of Open source ERP is called “Compiere”. Compiere is one of the Open Source ERP licensed under GNU/GPL. Thus, Compiere can be easily modified to suit the company’s requirement without infringing any legal matters. The aim objectives for implementing open source ERP is to increasing business efficiency for medium scaled manufacturing company within affordable budget. By ERP, it will help to reduce operational cost and improving employee disciplinary
