Abstract

Retail store employees tend to use his or her approaching skills such as awareness and talkative or friendly to the customer so they feel comfortable. Although it is important to understand what the customer needs and wants, the most crucial parts is when the employees don’t have motivation to understand they customer and what are they selling to. Therefore, by knowing the motivational factors from employees can results of recognition to the company. The purpose of this study is to know, which factors can motivate employees to be happy in the company and work well. In this research, visual format will be divided into several components, which are Motivational Theory, Retail store and employees motivational. The methodology used in this research is a quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative data that is obtained from the questionnaires from 110 employees who work in retail store, while the qualitative data is gathered from Herzberg theory, and adding the analysis data from Excel and SPSS Program. Based on the result, the Herzberg’s two-factor motivational theory has the ability to approximate the employees’ motivation toward work.
