Abstract

"This research aims to further discuss about the impact of motivation towards hotel employees performance particularly in North Jakarta, Indonesia. Motivation is known to have been divided into several factors. The author reviewed literature reviews of motivational theories and frameworks, motivation in working place, performance theories and hospitality industry in Indonesia. The theory that the author will be using is Herzberg’s motivational theory, where motivation is divided into motivator and hygiene factors. After that, primary research of this research was conducted between 19th of May until 5th of June 2017. First of all, 30 respondents have been selected from 3-star hotel employees in North Jakarta for the pre-test. Then, after managing the data frompre-test, post-test data is analysed by using 100 respondents from the selected 3-star hotels as the data set in this research. The author concluded that motivation does affect employees performance, particulary employees in the 3-star hotels. This research also includes recommendations and limitations for future researchers and also recommendations for the 3-star hotels sample.
