Abstract

The usage of airplane as means of transportation is gradually increased every year. This resulted in an increase in air traffic communication where our current aviation communication system has its own drawback. As being mandated by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that is all participants of 1944 Chicago conference to implement Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) by 2015, Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT) initiates a research to develop Aeronautics Telecommunication Network (ATN) which is included in CNS/ATM. Generally, this research is intended to provide a reliable digital data transmission using connection oriented transport protocol and to increase safety in Indonesia air traffic. The development of the ATN system itself has now reached the transport layer. In transport layer, the system may have connectionless or connection oriented transport protocol. This research will focus on the connection oriented part. Specifically, this research is conducted to maintain the connection management for connection oriented transport protocol. The modules will be developed using C language in Linux kernel 2.6.21.5 and CentOS 5.2 as our Operating System.
