Abstract

Financial ratios are tools to see company’s performance. One financial ratios type is profitability ratios, which have gross margin, operating margin, net margin, return on assets and return on equity as factors. For investor it can be a tool to analyse what and how much return company can give to investors after they have invest in the company. The research question focused on whether factors of profitability ratio have any significant impact or not towards stock return in the automotive and automotive component industry. This study use descriptive statistic and structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis and the data is done with Microsoft Excel 2011, SPSS and AMOS ver.22 software. The independent variable in this research will be the profitability ratios factors, which are gross margin, operating margin, net margin, return on assets and return on equity. Moreover the dependent variable is the stock return of the company. The result shows that there is significant impact from profitability ratio towards stock returns. This result suggests that company have to maintain their profitability ratio to attract investors to invest their money in the company.
