Abstract

This research is aiming to find out the impact of macroeconomic factors toward bank profitability as well as the impact is whether significant or insignificant. The factors used as dependent variables are gross domestic product, interest rate, inflation rate, and exchange rate. As for the independent variables used to measure the bank profitability are return on assets and return on equity. The samples used are 10 banks listed in Index Kompas 100. The data is gathered from company’s and Indonesia Stock Exchange website. Moreover, the data is analyzed using Microsoft Excel, SPSS, and AMOS software. Through the analysis, this research finds out that all the macroeconomic factors are positively affect the bank profitability. Interest rate, inflation rate, and exchange rate are significantly impacting, while the gross domestic product turns out an insignificant factor toward bank profitability.
