Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to develop a fire fighting robot that will search and extinguish fire. The fire fighting robot has a features of speed control which controlling the speed of the motor according to the distance of fire in front of the robot. This robot can be used to compete in robotic competitions or in real life to help people, especially firefighters to extinguish fires. The robot uses a flame sensor to detect a fire, ultrasonic sensors to avoid the collision with the wall, servo continuous motors to move the robot and an Arduino ATMEGA 2560 as the microcontroller. There are 3 ultrasonic sensors, 2 servo continuous motors, 1 flame senor and 1 microcontroller placed in the robot. To operate, first the robot will detect whether there is a fire or not. If there is a fire in front of the robot, the robot will move approaching the fire. After the robot close enough to extinguish fire, the fan which is mounted on the robot will extinguish the fire. Here, a candle will represent the fire. If there is no fire in front of the robot, the robot will move following the left wall to travel around the model home.
