Abstract
Kandank Jurank Doank (KJD) was started in 1993 as a creative social community which was initiated by Dik Doank. In order to cross-subsidy the social activity, in 2005 KJD opened its commercial activity packages. KJD has slowly transformed into a minor tourist destination. The transition of KJD transformation falls within the process of the Tourism Area Life Cycle (TALC). Tourism not only brings positive impacts, but also negative impacts. In order to create an awareness of a destination life cycle and importance of sustainable development of tourism; an assessment of significance of the correlation between TALC and Sustainable Tourism (ST) are carried out and tested through Pearson Correlation Test in SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions). The indicators results of TALC support the current position of KJD is in the involvement phase. Furthermore, there is a significant, positive, and strong correlation between TALC and ST. ST should be considered in developing a destination. There are the least 3 indicators of ST which not really meet the requirements, they are capacity control, tourism seasonality, and water conservation. Several ways to communicate important information are suggested. Furthermore, cooperation with related institution which has capability and ability about water conservation and tourism are recommended in order to create good and positive innovation for public life.
