Abstract

PID control system is widely used in the industry for their autonomous machines. This control will make a better performing machine by reducing overshoot and rise time by controlling the PID system which consists of proportional, integral, and derivative functions. The ball and plate system are used as an educational representation of how the system works. This system will use a camera as the main sensor to locate the ball then 2 dc servo motors as the actuator that is controlled by Arduino Nano. The image from the camera will be analyzed by OpenCV to locate location of the ball. This will be process inside Qt which also uses serial communication to sync with Arduino to fulfill the goal. The response of the system is dependent on how fast the image will be processed.
