Abstract

Creative industry now is more important to economic state than ever before. The industry constitutes almost one-tenth of total Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product in 2013. Therefore, the development of creative industry is very important. This research tries to define relationships among macroeconomic indicators (MEIs), external sustainability, and the creative industry development model (Hedi, 2011). The internal organizational growth (Hidayat, Anantadjaya, Sinaga, Abadi, & Lingga, 2013) and the Triple Helix (Leydesdorff, 2012) are used as a foundation of creative industry development theory in this research. Primary (interview & questionnaire) and secondary (publication) data sources are gathered from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia. Data analysis relies on the employment of statistical software. MEIs do not have a significant impact on the foundation and the pillars of creative industry. On the other hand, the foundation and the pillars of creative industry have a significant impact on internal and external sustainability of creative industry. The internal organizational growth model is also higly relevant with the reality.
