Abstract

Manufacturing companies that run the business never abandon efforts to make efficiency and increase productivity. Increasing productivity within the company is the primary purpose but producing A3CM-05 cement leaves scrap/waste due to inefficient work methods. This study aims to reduce scrap/waste in the A3CM-05 cement production process by designing a method to increase efficiency, which will be implemented by PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) & QCC (Quality Control Circle) method. The improvement will be focused on problems with serious scrap/waste above the specified target (Key Performance Indicator). For the result, the main factors of non-conformance will be identified, such as methods, materials, and people, and how to maintain the improvements by using work instructions and check sheets. This study provides an improved solution to the result base on root cause analysis of the problem. These improvements, such as an increase in productivity by 2.1%, and the scrap generated from the remaining cement production decreased by 8.76% from the original 38.87% to 30.11% per month in the cement process of A3CM-05.
