Abstract

In Indonesia manufacturing industries are currently developing in a fast pace. In a process of automotive industries and other industries material handling still and will be the most contributing non value added factors in the Sub Assembly Process Line Optimization With Adding Supporting Tools To Increase Productivity On Engineering Department In PT. XYZ process. Meaning that the supporting tools that helps the process still need be improve, so that the supporting tools can help the increase productivity by reducing those non-value added activity, although the non-value added activity will still be available its best to reduce it. In this thesis, the activities of the operators that working on the sub assembly line of an automotive manufacturing company will be analyzed. By analyzing the activities and integrating the activities on the new determined layout, a new and improve supporting tools will be proposed to the company in order to optimize the current supporting tool to the determined layout, with the purpose of reducing the material handling and increasing the productivity of the operation. After proposing the concept of the supporting tools the system will then be simulated in a digital software, Tecnomatix.
