Abstract

Nowadays there are lots of people who uses social media as their daily basis, because of that some companies are starting to use social media to marketing their product to the public. This research will mainly focus about Cheetos’s social media for increasing awareness of their product around teenagers around Tangerang Selatan. The purpose of this research is to find out whether Cheetos’s social media is successful to increase the awareness about their products around teenagers such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Social media, in the context of this research, are internet-based applications that allow the creation and exchange of content. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The primary data of this research are collected by two sessions of focus group discussion that consist of 2 different groups and two in-depth interview session with the key informant and expert. The secondary data of this research are collected from the company website and the journals created by the company. The results based on the specific respondent of the discussion indicate that social media that owned by Cheetos still need further improvement and publications to make people more aware about the existence of Cheetos’s social media.
