Abstract

XYZ provides 1 on 1 English lesson that focuses on improving the ability of the students to speak English. Currently, the session appointments is handled manually by recorded in multiple forms. It starts to create problems where tutor forgets to fill Activity Record and also marking the number of session of the students. The students also are not able to check their remaining session they have unless they are currently at the Training Center. The goal of the thesis is to develop an online booking system for XYZ to tackle those problems by using Waterfall Methodology from SDLC and also perform a gap analysis between the expectation and perceived result of the online booking system by distributing questionnaire using “Website Quality Assessment” framework where 5 criteria (Content, Navigation, Structure and Design, Appearance and Multimedia, and Uniqueness) are tested. The system is tested using functionality test and user acceptance test to the owner of XYZ. The results show the system has meet the expectation of the user and the dominant demographic where the highest percentage of demography (based on age, role in XYZ, profession) with range of 0.1 – 0.5, However for non-student gap value shows a negative value on Content and Navigation criteria. The problems are solved by implementing alerts box to tutor if they have not fill the activity record from previous day and students are able to check their remaining session from each of their student homepage. The future development would be conducting Focus Group Discussion with the users on low or negative value criteria.
