Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of late materials arrival for Australian Embassy construction project in Jakarta done by PT. XYZ Indonesia. This research is qualitative and using both primary and secondary data, which collected from the company data including interview with senior purchasing for import goods and monitoring the delivery data in the purchasing department. The data is analyzed using Ishikawa diagram and cause and effect matrix to identify the causes of late materials arrival. This data uses time series data from January 2014 – December 2014. Based on the result it can be seen that shipping has positive moderate correlation to the late materials arrival. A ranking of the late materials arrival on 5 factors are based on the acquisition value RI (Relative Index) and the highest data analysis techniques used to find the most influential sub factors in each factor is the analysis of the factor scores. The results showed that the dominant factor causing delay in the arrival of the goods is a factor shipping with RI value of 0.30, factor system with RI value at 0.23, the factors surrounding the RI value of 0.18, the skill factor with a value of RI 0.15, and supplier factors with a value of RI at 0.11. As for the value sub factors most influential factor 5 late arrival materials based on analysis of the factors are the holiday season, airway bill, incoterms and custom clearance.
