Abstract

Employee satisfaction has recently become one of the factors, which helps a company to achieve their goals. Therefore, assessing employee satisfaction is considered necessary for further improvement. This research purpose is to assess employee satisfaction index in a shoe factory. The respondents of this research consists of 92 people and is divided into 2 line processing; conventional and modernization The research focus on factors such as equipment, environment and body posture. The measure of the survey consists of 6-point Likert scale on satisfaction score and 10 scale for importance level. The results are reliability analysis, factor loading analysis, and satisfaction index. The results of the reliability and factor loading analysis shows that all variables are reliable and measuring something identical to proceed for further analysis. Employee satisfaction index shows that the conventional line has higher satisfaction index than modernization line. The lowest satisfaction index for both lines lies on seating (chair) factor.
