Abstract

Customer satisfaction is important thing when it comes into business, especially in restaurant. With more increasing level of competitiveness in restaurant industry, dining atmosphere could be considered as one factor that could create a customer satisfaction. This thesis will take seven factors in dining atmosphere that will be researched, which are; Color, Sound, Lighting, Artwork, Cleanliness, Scent and Temperature. The results will shows which of the various factors in dining atmosphere and how strong it will influence customer satisfaction. This thesis focuses on dining atmosphere preferred by Tangerang Community. The research method used quantitative research and supported by qualitative research in the form of interview. Quantitative research was supported with primary data from a questionnaire using likert scale that was collected from respondents from Tangerang.As the result, it is found that there is significant relationship between dining atmosphere towards customer satisfaction by 96% and all of various dining atmosphere also proven has significant influence on customer satisfaction. As conclusion, it is important for owner, manager and interior design of restaurant to take on awareness and consideration of all various dining atmosphere, since it will bring customer satisfaction.
