Abstract

In this era, customers of the restaurant demand greater and more unique dining experience as they enjoy the delicious meal and excellent service. Guest expectation becomes higher and no food is good enough without the additional perks to tickle the sense of customers hunger. Hence, restaurant interior design becomes one of the strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and their buying behavior. This research has been done to measure the impact of the interior design inside restaurants on customers buying decision. The research also examines which factor of interior design that has the most effect in customer buying decision. The research object was one of the creative culinary establishments that have a unique sense in interior design towards their restaurants, which is Nanny’s Pavillon. The qualitative data gathered from the interview conducted with the team of Nanny’s Pavillon. The quantitative research data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires for Nanny’s Pavillon customers in the Greater Jakarta area. The data then examined using SPSS version 21.0. The result of the study shows that customer buying decision can be described as much as 77% effected by restaurant interior design factors, while the factor that affects the most comes from the layout design of a restaurant with the significant effect in customer buying decision as much as 49.8%.
